In the world of airsoft there is a wide range of replica models from pistols, carbines, rifles, machine guns to sniper rifles. A very important factor is propulsion, today you will most often see an AEG , or airsoft replica powered by a battery. If you are choosing a replica pistol, on the other hand, you will most often see a GBB, or compressed gas powered replica. Are you looking for a new replica and don't know what to do ? Don't worry, we can help you.

The Gas Blow-Back system is a cycling receiver mechanism that imitate the functionality of real fire weapons. Thanks to Blow-Back, the shooter has the full feeling of shooting, even if it is an airsoft replica!
You can recognize the Blow-Back system by the way the slide of the gun moves (cycles) as you shoot.
Types of Blow-Back:
1. Full Blow-Back (GBB)
- fully cycling slide
- maximum shooting pleasure
- the most commonly used version
- higher gas consumption
- more maintenance needed (lubrication of moving parts)
2. Partial Blow-Back
- cycles only part of the receiver (usually only the "receiver shell")
- less realistic shooting feel (weaker recoil)
- less frequent mechanism
- less gas consumption
- stiff trigger
3. No Blow-Back (GNB)
- gas pistols without Blow-Back also do not need to be cocked for each shot
- slide does not cycle when fired
- less realistic shooting feel (no recoil)
Length of the weapon with unfolded stock.
CCW = Left-Handed (LH)
CW = Right-Handed (RH)
14 mm CCW is the most common thread on AEG outer barrel.
The muzzle velocity is the most common value given in airsoft replicas and tells us how fast the ball is flying. The value is given in FPS (Feet per Second) or m/s (meters per second). An alternative indication of the gun's power can be by the force of the ball given in joules (J)
As a usually rule, all dealer and manufacturer values are measured at 0.20g.

AEG -these are battery-powered airsoft replicas, widely recognized as the most popular and versatile type of airsoft gun. Their affordability is a key factor, with reliable AEGs available from as low as $150. Additionally, they are known for their reliability, low maintenance needs, and vast aftermarket support, enabling endless customization options.
AEGs are an excellent choice for beginners thanks to their ease of use, but they also meet the demands of seasoned airsoft players. Perfect for any player seeking performance and adaptability in the field.
When you hear "gas gun," most players think of pistols, and for good reason—pistols are an essential part of any airsoft loadout. Gas pistols, powered by compressed GreenGas or CO2, are the perfect sidearms, offering a realistic and satisfying shooting experience. Recently, gas-powered shotguns have also gained popularity.
While these replicas require more maintenance and have a higher initial cost, with quality models starting at $150, they excel as secondary weapons rather than primary choices. Gas guns come in two types: GBB (Gas Blowback) and NBB (Non-Blowback).
Gas-Blow-Back pistols are the most popular type among airsoft players. Their unique construction provides realistic behavior, primarily due to the moving slide, which replicates the recoil of a real firearm. This realistic feature makes GBB replicas highly favored, even among live-fire shooters, for "dry fire" practice, enabling efficient training in drawing and weapon handling.
Non-Blow-Back pistols differ from GBB models by lacking a moving slide. This design makes them generally more affordable and better suited for cold weather conditions. However, they come with limited upgrade options and stiff triggers. A notable advantage is their significantly quieter shots due to the absence of a blow-back mechanism, making them ideal for stealth. The MK23 series stands out as a prime example, capable of modifications to achieve nearly silent operation, offering a tactical edge in certain scenarios.
In recent years, gas-powered shotguns have emerged as a unique category in airsoft. Unlike traditional AEGs or pistols, these replicas are designed to fire multiple 6mm BBs simultaneously, with up to six projectiles per shot. Each shot requires manual cocking, adding a realistic touch. These shotguns excel in CQB (Close Quarters Battle) scenarios, where their efficiency rivals even electric replicas. Beyond their performance, they offer unmatched fun and tactical versatility, making them a favorite for players seeking an intense and dynamic experience.
As the name suggests, manual replicas operate on a spring-loaded mechanism that requires manual cocking before each shot. This design limits their rate of fire compared to other types. Manual pistols are best suited for backyard target practice, such as plinking at cans, as they lack the combat efficiency needed for airsoft battles. However, in the form of sniper rifles, they command respect and instill fear on the battlefield, offering precision and power to skilled marksmen.
Sniper rifles form a distinct category of airsoft guns, designed for long-range combat. These single-shot rifles are highly popular due to their exceptional range, accuracy, and reliability. However, straight out of the box, most sniper rifles often underperform compared to AEGs. To unlock their true potential on the battlefield, upgrading is almost essential. A vast selection of aftermarket parts from numerous brands ensures these rifles can be fine-tuned for unparalleled performance, offering a decisive edge in precision-based gameplay.
Our selection includes gas-powered long guns, powered by compressed gases such as Green Gas or CO2, similar to their pistol and shotgun counterparts. While they offer a unique experience, these rifles are becoming less common due to their high price, maintenance demands, sensitivity to temperature, and limited upgrade potential. As a result, AEGs and HPA systems dominate the market. At our store, you'll find specialized models like Winchesters or offerings from niche manufacturers, catering to enthusiasts seeking something unique in their airsoft arsenal.
HPA (High-Pressure Air) HPA systems are airsoft replicas powered by highly compressed air, often seen as the pinnacle of performance among players. These systems offer unparalleled reliability, consistent performance, and exceptional shooting capabilities. However, their high initial cost can be a drawback. HPA replicas are commonly custom-built, allowing players to convert AEGs into HPA-powered guns. If you're looking for top-notch customization and performance, consult our service team—Racek Custom Guns—to build your dream replica!
