Springs

Springs

The spring is used to compress the piston of the replica. It is most often made of valve wire.

It varies in length and thickness of wire, which causes the force with which it compresses the piston to change, resulting in stronger or weaker performance of the gun.

The springs also have different winding patterns, which can be both normal and progressive. This winding facilitates compression in the first stage, while the spring retains sufficient force.

Warning!! The use of a thicker spring will not only increase the power of the gun, but will also put more stress on the internal parts. Using a very strong spring can damage parts of your mechabox ( piston comb, wheels.... for example) or burn the engine because it will not have the strength to pull the spring. For V2 mechabox it is recommended to use a spring max. M130, for V3, due to the different construction, even M140. You will also need to purchase a powerful battery for the stronger springs.

How do I increase the range of my AEG if a stronger spring can damage it?

The best way to improve the range and even the shot is to use better quality bullets, change the HOP up chamber, barrel and use a different pressure element, only then if you are not satisfied with the result is it possible to put a stronger spring. For very strong springs it is necessary to get a CNC mechabox. We recommend Retroarms as our most used manufacturer.

There are also special types, for example PSG1. For sniper rifles the springs are much longer than the AEG.

What about the spring power stated by the manufacturer vs. the actual power ?

This is a very important question. As has been said several times, it all depends on the sealing of the entire air-chamber assembly. The manufacturer may write that for example the M120 spring is supposed to give 120 m/s, but the reality is that it also depends on the material of the spring, so the actual performance may be higher or even lower. When using quality springs, such as Guarder, ASParts, or even SHS, the resulting performance may be higher than the value given by the manufacturer. Sometimes it is by 5 m/s, sometimes by 10 m/s and sometimes even more than 20 m/s. But again, it all depends on the choice of parts and composition of the gun.

Some guns have the possibility of quick spring change, thanks to which we can immediately see how our gun is doing and possibly adjust the performance according to the style of play and the rules of the course. For a better overview Specna Arms guns are factory equipped with M110 spring
