Pads for gears

Pads for gears

These are small, usually steel pads that are used to fill free space between, for example, wheels and bearings.

In most cases, they are produced in the following thicknesses: 0.1 mm, 0.2 mm, 0.3 mm, 0.5 mm.

When shimming wheels, it is also important to look at the diameter of the wheel axle, as shims are made for both 3 mm and 4 mm axles. It is always best to buy the right inner diameter of the shim.

Aside from wheels, there are also specific shims made for hop up chambers, rubber bands, cylinder heads and piston heads.

For the piston head, they are used for AOE correction, which is done when the first tooth of the wheel does not go exactly on the piston's ramp tooth.

For the chamber, they allow for proper alignment of the HOP-UP chamber relative to the nozzle and reservoir.

For the hop up bucking, a washer is used to go adjust the ideal position of the HOP-UP rubber band in the chamber in case there is any leakage or feeding problem.
