Piston Heads

This round part is bolted to the piston body. They can be plastic or metal.

1.     The metal ones have the advantage of great durability when using strong springs, but once it is damaged, it risks scratching and therefore degrading the inside of the cylinder

2.     Plastic ones may not last as long as the metal variants, but due to their low weight they will reduce the weight of the whole assembly and increase the durability of the mechabox. In addition, the possibility of damage to the cylinder is virtually eliminated.

On the front side we can find a different number of holes. These holes fold to guide air and stretch the o-ring seal to prevent leaks inside the cylinder. It can also be fitted with an o ring to centre the piston in the cylinder. A bearing is found on the head which, together with the bearing on the mandrel, protects the spring from twisting.

Is it necessary to glue the bolts of the piston head during installation ?

Yes, this is a very important but often neglected step. Failure to glue the bolt risks the risk of the bolt spinning out spontaneously due to piston strikes. This screw will damage the air system (it will separate the head from the piston body) and can even get inside the mechabox and destroy the gun. For this step, we offer a medium strength thread adhesive so that the head can be unscrewed from the corpus in case of replacement.

As already written for the cylinder head, there are also silent variants. These in conjunction with the cylinder head will reduce the noise level of the assembly. The silent cylinder head has a rubber "bulge" on the face that fits precisely into a cutout on the cylinder head, and parts of this will reduce the noise of the gun when fired.

The NBU heads have an enlarged diameter for higher air volume and are therefore incompatible with standard cylinders and other NBU air parts
