Bearings ASG

Bearings ASG

This part allows us to run the gears smoothly. Sold as a set of 6 pieces, they have different diameters for the wheel axle hole (3mm and 4mm) and also the diameter as a whole. They are most commonly sold in 6, 7, 8 and 9mm sizes.

For better gun operation on both heavy springs and speed guns, bearings of at least 7mm are recommended, 8 or 9mm are best. Their construction is much more robust and therefore more durable than their smaller variants.

There are also bearings on the market called low-profile bearings. Their advantage is that they have a lower profile. As a result, there is no risk of the selector plate deflecting.

They are most often made of steel for durability.

They are divided into slide and ball.

  1.     Slide bearings are bearings made of a single piece of material and have no moving parts. This type will not increase our cadence, but they are very suitable for types of weapons where a load is needed. By load, we mean the use of such parts that the resulting performance of the weapon is as high as possible.
  2.     Ball bearings, unlike slide bearings, have moving parts in them (small balls in the housing). This allows the wheels to turn faster and therefore gives the gun a better RPF, but they are not suitable for heavy loads

Different tools are used to install new bearings, we offer a tool for tapping them.

It is recommended to put the bearings in the freezer before tapping, when they will shrink a bit in size due to the cold and thus are easier to install

The bearings must not rotate in the mechabox. In this case, the bearings must be taped with bearing glue, not instant glue.

We must not forget to properly shim the wheels against the bearings, only this will ensure the long life of our replica and minimal wheel friction etc. You can find out how to do this in the gears section
