Christmas is just around the corner and every airsoft player wants a new "toy" under the tree. However, we know that choosing a gift from an industry you are not familiar with is very challenging and often impossible to choose correctly. At the same time, you want the gift to be at least a little bit of a surprise. That's what we're here for, so we can advise you on the perfect gift for under the Christmas tree!

What is good to buy for Christmas as an airsoft gift? 

 

• Airsoft gun

The offer is wide. Of course, the airsoft gun itself always makes the biggest impact. If you don't want to buy a new long rifle, a short airsoft pistol will do the same. 

 

• Weapon accessories

If you already have your gun sorted out, we recommend a gun accessory. The most wished accessories are: slings,  sights or tactical grips and flashlights. An extra magazine for your replica never hurts either. There really is a lot to choose from. 

 

• Equipment and clothing

And if you can't choose here either, then comes the gear and clothing. A new tactical vest is sure to please or new magazine pouches. Here, don't forget to keep the right colour of camouflage. We airsofters are sensitive to that :). In clothing always use new gloves or warm clothes for winter.

 

• Ammunition / Gases / Batteries

Oh, and if you want to play it safe, there's consumables, which you can never have enough of. By this we mean of course airsoft BBs, green gas and CO2 cartridges or gun batteries.

WHAT AIRSOFT GUN TO BUY FOR CHRISTMAS? 

It is not easy to say which gun is the best. Each has its own characteristics and the player has his own needs. In general, the first gun is best to get an electric (AEG) replica. You can read more in the article: How to choose your first replica ?

What parameters should I focus on? 

1) Weight 

Having an all-metal replica is great. However, such a replica can weigh up to over 3kg and that really comes through in a fight. Therefore if you have a younger enthusiast at home, usually 12 - 15 years old, we recommend looking for models made of high quality polymer where the weight can be reduced by up to 1kg.  

From this category we can recommend the M4 replica Flex series from Specna Arms, which are also the most popular with kids camps. There are also AK47 from CYMA or G36 from JG.

 

2) Practicality

There is a wide variety of airsoft replicas on the market. The picture shows one nicer than the other. In practice, however, you will find that some replicas may be less practical for some reason and are designed more for "gourmet" or collector needs, for example, rather than for casual play. 

Be sure to choose a gun that has the ability to add accessories, for example, using a RIS rail. Believe that the first thing you will deal with after buying a gun is getting a scope and similar accessories. However, if you buy a gun without the ability to add these accessories, you can easily complicate your life. 

This is 90% fulfilled by all M4 replicas nowadays, which is why they are also the most widely used platform among airsoft replicas.

 

3) Price

Good quality airsoft replicas start around 100 EUR and are sufficient for a complete beginner. In this price range the guns are mostly made of polymer. For more advanced players, we already recommend to look around for a higher class, which offers an full-metal gun body and mostly better quality internal parts which leads to better velocity and overall gaiming experience. Such guns are, for example, the replicas of the Prime axis series by Specna Arms or the Eagle and Feya by Delta Armory. These models are among the best replicas on the market and you definitely won't go wrong here.
